    The Central and Western Ecological Reserve of Cayo Coco is located north of the province of Ciego de Ávila, in the municipality of Morón, towards the eastern central portion of the Sabana - Camagüey Archipelago. It has an extension of 36 040.0, of them 17 855.9 hectares of land and 18 184.1 hectares of sea and has an almost rectangular configuration extended south of the regional road of the key and with the existence of two roads (east and west) that connect the northern marine area with the rest of the reservation.

    It is of national significance by Agreement 6803/2010, of the Executive Committee of the Council of Ministers (CECM), the Central and West Ecological Reserve of Cayo Coco is declared a protected area.It is located north of the province of Ciego de Ávila, in the municipality of Morón, towards the eastern central portion of the Sabana - Camagüey Archipelago. It has an area of ​​36 040.0 ha, of which 17 855.9 land hectares and 18 184.1 ha marine and has an almost rectangular configuration extended to the south of the regional road of the key and with the existence of two roads (for the east and west) that they connect the northern marine zone with the rest of the reserve.The terrestrial vegetation is composed of different plant formations (mangroves, sandy and rocky coast complexes, semi-deciduous forest, coastal xeromorphic scrubland); the last two being the most diverse and endemism.
