The certificate that accredits them was delivered by the deputy to the National Assembly of Popular Power and rector of the University of Havana, Miriam Nicado García. The Provincial Council was also constituted, also made up of presidents and vice-presidents of the municipal assemblies, plus the mayors.

Likewise, Osvaldo Álvarez Díaz, president of the Provincial Electoral Council, said that last Sunday, May 28, 531 municipal delegates out of a total of 534 exercised their right to vote, which represents 99.64 percent.

In his inauguration speech, Alfre Menéndez Pérez expressed that "the fundamental premise will be to lead the economic and social processes of the province in accordance with the policy and priorities defined by the country."

During the act, they recognized the work of the previous governor and vice-governor, Tomás Alexis Martín Venegas and Ania Rosa Francisco Malde.

The concluding words were given by Liván Izquierdo Alonso, a member of the Central Committee of the Party and its first secretary in the territory, who called to "turn ideas into actions to defend the Revolution and socialism. Turn Ciego de Ávila into one of the most productive provinces in the country is the commitment".
