Comenzó visita parlamentaria a Ciego de Ávila

The meeting with young people from the AHS was among the first activities of the parliamentary commission in Ciego de Ávila.

Directors of the permanent work commissions of the National Assembly of Popular Power (ANPP), headed by Homero Acosta Álvarez, secretary of the Cuban Council of State and Parliament, are visiting the province of Ciego de Ávila starting this Wednesday, as part of a program of exchange with the people of Ciego de Avila, which will last until June 17.

Acosta Álvarez and the delegation that accompanies him were received at the head office of the Government in the Province by Alfre Menéndez Pérez and Hiorvanys Espinosa Pérez, governor and vice governor, respectively, in the territory.

"We come with the spirit of contributing, knowing, directing efforts towards the main challenges, so that they feel supported by the People's Power Institutions and, at the same time, contributing with the work of the masses to the call of the Cuban president, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, to find solutions to problems from the neighborhood, in the community itself, where the most important actors for development are," he commented.

Mr. Enrique Moreno Gimeranez, director of Social Communication in the National Assembly of People's Power, explained that there are eight work commissions in the territory whose main objective is exchange with the people, in communities, neighborhoods and workplaces, hence that will be closely linked to the inhabitants of each of the 10 municipalities.

Blanca Mesa Valenciano, president of the Commission for Education, Culture, Science, Technology and the Environment of the ANPP, and the vice president of that commission, Miguel Enrique Carbonet Martell, exchanged with the young people of the Saíz Brothers Association (AHS) about the march and the experiences of the organization and the neighborhood transformation program.
