As part of the Parliamentary visit to the territory of Ciego de Ávila, the Health and Sports commission exchanged with workers and patients to learn about the quality of medical services.

At the Dr. Antonio Luaces Iraola Provincial Teaching Hospital, the deputies were interested in the health of pregnant women in the perinatal and pregnant B care rooms, taking into account that the infant mortality rate in the province is 6.3.

During the visit to Doctor`s Office No. 14 of the Belkis Sotomayor Polyclinic, Dr. Estela Cristina Luna Morales, president of the Health and Sports Commission of the National Assembly of Popular Power learned about the actions that are carried out from primary care for the promotion health and prevention of adolescent pregnancy.

Luna Morales urged to seek strategies to meet the needs of the population and positively modify the health indicators in the province of Ciego de Ávila.
