National HIV Testing Day is celebrated every June 27, an annual occasion to encourage people to get this free and confidential test.

In Ciego de Ávila, the "Take the test" event, in addition to the rapid test, included other promotional actions for more responsible sexual health.

Epidemiologist Yaitza Hernández Cabrera, in charge of the Counseling and Help Lines in the province, explained that minimum prevention packages with condoms and lubricants, including brochures and folding pamphlets, were also delivered.

Timely knowledge of the serological status constitutes a wise health prevention practice for the effective confrontation of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Hepatitis.
