    SIDA y COVID 19

Today, humanity is experiencing difficult times. The COVID-19 reminds us another pandemic that began a few decades ago, such as the appearance of AIDS, which claimed the lives of millions of people around the planet and has not been definitively eradicated yet.

Given these changing circumstances that marked a before and after for all human beings without exception of race, sex or religion, it is necessary that once and for all, people understand that it is time to put discrimination aside, prejudices and stigmas not only for AIDS patients, but also for any condition or suffering such as the one that is experienced today on a global scale.

In view of the health emergency, we know that people who have HIV are patients at higher risk, because their immune system is weak and they are more vulnerable to COVID 19.

For this reason, it is necessary to take the appropriate precautions such as proper hand washing, avoid touching the nose, mouth and eyes, cover the face with the mask and if there is the need to sneeze or cough, cover your mouth and nose with the elbow bent.

It is advisable to stay home and if you have symptoms, seek professional help.

The Joint United Nations Programme on HIV and AIDS (UNAIDS) recommends greater care for HIV patients, and steps up efforts in order to provide them care services, therapies, access to medical tests, condoms and medicines.
