Speculative prices for products of high popular demand constitute one of the negative trends that must be contained with the greatest force in the face of the new economic order in the country.

"Ciego de Ávila is not an exception to the rule, which is why government measures are implemented to curb abusive prices," explained Ania Rosa Francisco Malde, Deputy Governor of the Provincial Government of People's Power.

The comprehensive plan to confront the excessive rise in prices in the retail trade of Ciego de Ávila applies to all forms of production, and includes fines, seizures and forced sales to those who try to circumvent the provisions.

These measures are having their effect against those who thrive at the expense of collective deficiencies and needs for now but only the objective recovery of goods and services will give the final blow to speculative prices.
