Certifican para la exportación áreas de Ciego de Ávila donde siembran productos agrícola

The agricultural system in the province consolidates leadership among the other ones in the country with the certification of 1 021 hectares that have the phytosanitary requirements for the sowing of products for export.

The main agricultural exporting pole of Cuba, covered by the agreement 352/2017 of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and with entities of advanced production, takes a firm step at a time when the nation needs an increase in exports of goods and services.

According to Orlando Pérez Pedreira, delegate of agriculture in the province, the agroindustrial enterprises such as Ceballos, La Cuba, Arnaldo Ramírez and La Integral de Ciego de Ávila are the agroindustrial companies with the most certified areas so far.

Engineer Domingo de León Reyes, head of the Department of Plant Health in the Provincial Delegation of Agriculture, said that all agricultural exports from Ciego de Ávila's province come from certified areas, including those belonging to the cooperative and peasant sector.

He explained that Resolution 731/98 regulates the Rules for the phytosanitary record of areas intended for the production of exportable funds, whose applicants must comply with elementary requirements such as having the attention of phytosanitary specialists to each one of them with the corresponding updated history, not having borders with other areas of the crop itself and having the phytosanitary regulations of the recipient country, among others.

The international sanitary control measures implemented in the country are strictly complied, not only for travelers entering and leaving the island, but also for agricultural products and other merchandise.

The agricultural export pole Ceballos, composed by the companies La Cuba, Arnaldo Ramírez, Cubasoy and La Agropecuaria Integral de Ciego de Ávila, the Department of Soil and Plant Health, and the University Máximo Gómez has great potential for export charcoal, pineapple, habanero pepper, mango, mango puree, fresh guava, bars and guava puree, in addition to banana, sweet potato and vegetables, however, at that time some of the shipments have been limited by the lack of right conditions at the airport Jardines del Rey, a fact that requires taking the goods to the airport terminal José Martí in Havana.
