Establecen regulaciones ante incremento de la Covid-19 en Ciego de Ávila

Restrictive measures aimed at containing the contagion and spread of Covid-19 will take effect from this Wednesday, January 13, in the province of Ciego de Ávila, in response to a complex epidemiological scenario.

The Temporary Working Group for the Confrontation and Control of Covid-19 ordered the suspension of recreational activities, both in state entities and in private homes; as well as the closing of swimming pools, discos, gyms and other closed spaces due to the progressive increase in the infestation rate.

Tomás Alexis Martín Venegas, Governor of the province of Ciego de Ávila, specified that only the discos and swimming pools of the tourist facilities of destination Jardines del Rey will remain open for the exclusive use of the guests and under strict control measures that were arranged in the security protocols of the Ministry of Tourism and evaluated during the certification processes for A More Hygienic and Safe Tourism.

One-day stay in accommodation centers are eliminated and tourist excursions to the interior of the province will be reduced, in order to minimize the risks of contagion and spread of the disease.

The territorial authorities also ordered the closure of 50% of the gastronomic facilities and only take away sales in bars. In the case of restaurants and cafeterias that continue to provide services, they will reinforce hygienic-epidemiological measures and promote the modality of food to be consumed outside. These actions contemplate self-employed workers.

Moreover, the workers' dining halls will ensure compliance with social distancing measures and will promote the use of personal cutlery for food consumption, without neglecting the use of those of the entities and their adequate sanitation process. All agencies will carry out inquiries to their workers and promptly notify the health authorities of the detection of respiratory diseases.

The use of disinfecting carpets, and means of disinfection and protection are compulsory in all entities. No one should attend work centers with respiratory symptoms and unnecessary visits to hospitals are suspended.

In the current situation, political, cultural, recreational and sports activities are also canceled, as well as meetings in closed spaces and any other event that involves concentrations.

The capacities in state and private means of public transport are reduced: buses, taxis, trains, animal-drawn vehicles, motorcycle taxis and cycle-rickshaws. Likewise, the support of state cars is limited to the transfer of passengers through the boarding points and regulations are established for the circulation of vehicles after 08:00 pm. The mobility of people will also be restricted from their own schedule.

In relation to funeral services, the reduction of the waking time to 3 hours was ordered in the territories with a compromising epidemiological situation (Majagua, Morón and Ciego de Ávila) and, if necessary, the regulation will be extended to the rest of the the municipalities. The authorities of the Party and Government in the province urged to sensitize the population with these regulations, taking into account the complexity that it acquires when a loved one dies.

Control actions (disinfection of people and means of transport, as well as taking temperature) will be reactivated at all border points with the provinces of Sancti Spíritus and Camagüey given the spread of the virus in the country.

The Mintur Territorial Delegation prepared the Hotel Rueda in the main territory, and Sol Cayo Coco in the tourist destination Jardines del Rey, for the attention of travelers who decide to complete the period of isolation away from their families.

The sellers of craft fairs, such as the one located on the ground floor of the 12 Plantas building, in the main municipality, will carry out their commercial proceedings on alternate days to avoid accumulations of sales kiosks and the concentrations of people from the place.

"In cases of cessation or regulations of self-employment activities, they must proceed with political rationality and sensitivity to the execution of the corresponding procedures for the readjustment of contributions to the ONAT during the time of impact on activities", the Governor insisted.

In the current circumstances, it is expected to promote the modality of telecommuting and the protection of vulnerable workers due to chronic diseases.

Control must be tightened in tourist facilities, educational and hospital centers, nursing homes, and railway and bus stations, where strict compliance with disinfection measures and the use of security means is urgent.

The health authorities, the Supervision and Control teams, and the forces of the Interior Order, will demand, with greater rigor, the complience of the measures ordered by the Minsap and the directions of the Party and Government, in order to help reverse the epidemiological situation prevailing in the province.
