Aseguran transportación de trabajadores del turismo

The Base Business Unit (UEB by its Spanish initials) for the Transportation of Workers Transmetro Morón ensures the daily transfer of 2,500 men and women who work in hotel and non-hotel facilities by keeping active 62 services, to and from the tourist destination Jardines del Rey.

The entity guarantees the mobility of workers from the Ministry of Tourism, the Gaviota Hotel Group, travel agencies, the international airport and other centers represented in the northern keys of the province of Ciego de Ávila, in safe conditions and with strict adherence to hygienic-sanitary measures to avoid contagion and the spread of the new coronavirus.

Eliades Suárez Alcina, Head of Operations of the aforementioned UEB, highlighted that the quality of the service is evaluated as Satisfactory, taking into account the criteria issued by clients in weekly exchanges.

In a context marked by epidemiological complexities, Transmetro Morón has achieved the fulfillment of its social purpose and supported national, interprovincial and health sector worker transportation, despite limitations with tires, batteries and spare parts, as a result of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on Cuba by the government of the United States.

Suárez Alcina stressed that the Ordinance Task has implied significant changes in the collection rate to its clients, which has had a favorable impact on the salary of workers and allows a match between income and expenses for tolls, maintenance, food, protection.

With the recent monetary and exchange reorganization, special morning sessions and debates with workers are held to explain the particularities of the process and learn about their main concerns in this regard, which has led to tariff readjustments such as those of the workers' lunches.

The Chief of Operations of the UEB of Transportation of Workers Transmetro Morón, emphasized that 2020 was a difficult year, due to economic effects as a consequence of the pandemic Covid-19, that reduced the entity's income by 50%, in a period for which a sum of more than 6 million pesos national currency was predicted.

The company achieves greater efficiency by controlling and using fuel rationally through GPS systems and the analysis of consumption per kilometers that are traveled.

The UEB of Transportation of Workers Transmetro Morón has been the recipient of awards from the National Vanguard Collective and the National Reference Center.
