Among 10 centers or entities throughout Cuba, 8 of them located in the capital, the collective of the Juan Manuel Márquez Cepil Company, from Ciego de Ávila, has just received the National Prize for Technological Innovation 2020, granted by the Ministry of Science , Technology and Environment (CITMA).

Before placing the recognition in the hands of Oscar Morales Jiménez, general director of the company, Deputy Andrea Armas Rodríguez, director of Science, Technology and Environment at CITMA, explained that originally 23 proposals or nominations were received, revealing the extraordinary role that continues to carry out technological innovation throughout the country, as an expression of the scientific thought of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.

Cepil's contribution on this occasion is based on the introduction of new products and technologies in the injection molding of articles for domestic use.

Due to their quality, in stores throughout the archipelago there is a high demand for items made in the Ciego de Ávila´s company, such as plastic brooms, brushes, urinals for children, containers, baskets, tanks with different capacities and others whose variety and volumes depend to a great extent of how the financing for the acquisition of essential raw materials in the technological process behaves.

Even so, last year the company produced values ??for 6.6 million pesos, a figure higher than planned, while its managers and workers intend to contribute some 102 million pesos to the national economy throughout the current calendar, in under the new conditions associated with the ordering task.

Representatives of the CITMA Delegation in the province, consider that Cepil could become a Development and Innovation Unit, with the consequent bases to enter into a high technology situation, for which purpose the dossier proposal has already been submitted.

In 2019, the Ceballos Agroindustrial Company also deserved the National Award, through a technological package related to the activity of fruit trees.
