With the first virtual edition of the "Festival al Son del Gallo: Pío Leyva In Memoriam", Ciego de Ávila will celebrate Cuban Son Day, from May 5 to 8, on social media.

The foregoing transpired this Thursday at a press conference at la Casa del Joven Creador, where its main promoter, the sonero from Morón, Andrés Hernández, explained in detail the particulars of the project.

"The Ciego de Ávila´s festival wants to contribute its grain of sand so that the son is declared a World Heritage Site," Andrés Hernández argued.

The cast of the "Festival al Son del Gallo: Pío Leyva In Memoriam" is joined by the groups Guamá, Caonao, Yeremá, Aroma, Vakuba, and Motivos Personales, among others such as the Colombian Son Varadero.
