The COVID-19 pandemic took away the illusion and color of the traditional parade, but it accentuated the courage and resistance of working people to face numerous challenges in the midst of a global health crisis, which involves economic difficulties and the aggravation of political contradictions.

For the second time, the pressing physical distancing prevents us from converging on the squares to give our most authentic expression of unity and fidelity to the socialist Homeland; however, the circumstances show that we are on a pilgrimage, we do it along the same lines and always with the desire to turn setbacks into victories.

Let´s march!Yes, we do it with the pride that the Flag of the Lone Star prints on us and the dignity of a people that does not succumb to obstacles, which are not few and may be more when a powerful adversary decides to make the journey more complex, with the pretense of getting caught in a pothole.

But we, Cubans, are filled with courage and in the midst of a global crisis we bet on improving the economy, as the only alternative to overcome deficiencies and difficulties, with the aspiration of being more sovereign. We pave the way, we press the march, we create, we innovate, we rectify and we grow! Not by chance, but with sacrifice and taking advantage of what has been built over 62 years.

We are distinguished by what we have and are capable of sharing, even if they try to make us understand the opposite and a minority is limited to see the spots in the sun that strongly radiates the path of a besieged and blocked nation but with sufficient resistance and capacity to fulfill your dreams and build hope.

Hope, turned into five vaccine candidates to immunize a people and contribute to the health of sister countries; hope, which rests on the perennial desire to reinvent the economy and correct our mistakes; hope, seen and assured one in the generation of continuity, that which demonstrates with facts, assumes the commitment and has enough reasons to lead the expedition towards a better future.

This May 1st, we will resume the march of every day, with the hopes and motivations that unite us, with the firmness and determination to fulfill the commitments made, with the necessary will to move forward and the desire to renew the energies to continue the journey, because we are unstoppable.
