Multiple initiatives that are generated and demonstrate how the labor movement overcomes the obstacles posed by the pandemic, so that the traditional celebration for International Workers' Day does not lose strength, color or motivations and also contributes to promoting essential tasks in the current situation.

This is evidenced by the work undertaken in the agricultural environment in areas of the Arnaldo Ramírez Agricultural Company, located in the municipality of Primero de Enero, on April 11.

Support for food production has been not only verbal, but above all in actions. For that reason, on the last weekend, the call made by the Cuban Workers' Centre (CTC by its Spanish initials), to turn Saturday and Sunday into two days of voluntary contribution, was fully accepted.

The planting of sugarcane in the northern areas of Chambas or sweet potatoes, in Bolivia (in the center of the country), recurring work in orchards and organoponics, grain harvest, sanitation of public spaces and facilities, support for industrial processes, among others were added.

Provincial press media and in particular content on social networks, show that the fundamental center of such volunteer work has been on land dedicated to various crops, grains, fruits and vegetables. It is significant the contribution that representatives of the different unions, municipal cadres and members of vanguard collectives have been making, according to Héctor Benítez Mora, the highest leader of the labor movement in Ciego de Ávila.

Receiving May 1st with the enthusiasm that characterizes Cubans, adopting hygienic-sanitary measures and complying with the implementation of the Economic-Social Strategy, means ratifying the willingness to defend and advance Socialism, led by the workers, part essential of this people that does not give up, because together, we make Cuba.
