Ciego de Ávila se alista para completar intervención sanitaria con Abdala

Based on instructions from the Ministry of Public Health, the province of Ciego de Ávila is preparing to complete the health intervention in risk groups with the AntiCovid-19 vaccine candidate Abdala, Yipsi González Borroto, head of the
Vaccination Program at the territory, reported.

After the inoculation of the immunogen began in the municipality of Morón, on June 30, it began in the tourist destination Jardines del Rey and was extended on July 1 to the rest of that territory; the remaining towns of the province undertook the conditioning of the areas that will function as vaccinations.

González Borroto specified that these places must have four spaces (waiting room, medical consultation, vaccination department and post-vaccination room), which will be previously certified by a commission that will evaluate the security conditions to carry out the sanitary intervention.

The main territory is expected to be the next to immunize the population, taking into account criteria such as epidemiological complexity, population density, and its economic and social importance for the province and the country.

The municipality of Morón guaranteed the insurances within a period of five days, as a result of the integration of community factors into the efforts made to reactivate medical clinics, schools and work centers that currently function as vaccinations, an experience that should be extended, he said.

The remaining nine municipalities are also making progress in identifying bedridden patients with chronic conditions, unable to attend vaccinations, to supply it in their homes, where a medical team with the conditions required for care will attend.

In Ciego de Ávila, it is also carried out the lifting of patients allergic to Thimerosal, who cannot receive Abdala because it contains this substance, therefore, they will be immunized, when indicated by the MINSAP, with two doses of Sovereign 02 vaccine candidate and another reinforcement with Soberana Plus, he explained.

Those suspected of suffering from the SARS-CoV-2 virus, he said, are excluded at the time the health intervention is executed, but if during the process they leave that category or that of contact, Abdala can be applied, otherwise, later, centralized vaccination centers will be set up for the immunization of these people.

The head of the Vaccination Program in the province added that convalescents from COVID-19 will only receive one dose of Soberana Plus.
