Covid-19: Se alista municipio de Ciego de Ávila para intervención sanitaria con Abdala

More than 100 sites that will serve as vaccination centers in Ciego de Ávila, are currently in the process of certification and training of their staff, with a view to an upcoming health intervention with the anti-Covid-19 vaccine candidate Abdala, to groups of risk.

Ángel Enrique Días, director of health in the territory, announced on his Twitter account that 126 vaccination centers are expected to operate, for the immunization of 119 000 people.

At this time, the first dose of the immunogenic Abdala is applied in the municipality of Morón, where it is estimated that there will be about 50 000 over 19 years old subjects, including 5 000 workers from the Jardines del Rey tourist destination.

Both cities present the worst epidemiological scenario in the territory due to the high incidence rate of Covid-19 positive patients per 100,000 inhabitants, people with respiratory symptoms and overcrowding in health facilities.

Yicsy González Borroto, head of the Vaccination Program in the province, explained that the selected premises must have four spaces (waiting room, medical consultation, vaccination department and post-vaccination room), previously certified by a commission that will evaluate the safety conditions to carry out the sanitary intervention.

It is also a progress to identify bedridden patients with chronic conditions, unable to attend vaccination centers, to provide them with the vaccine preparation in their homes, where a medical team with the conditions required for care will attend.

As part of the latest measures to face the Covid-19 pandemic in the territory, the delivery of more than 3000 units of Nasalferon, a drug that strengthens the immune system, was conceived to suspicious patients in the community who attend the consultations for respiratory infections.
