El pueblo construye sus propias páginas de heroísmo y gloria

In a song of peace, from brother to brother, from neighbor to neighbor, from people holding hands, the spaces and squares of the 10 Ciego de Ávila`s municipalities were transformed, with the epicenter in the Máximo Gómez Báez square, in the city of Ciego de Ávila, which brought together hundreds of worthy Cubans, in defense of the Revolution and peace.

On July 26, the good sons of the country arrived there, with Cuban flags and posters, among which the phrase of the National Hero José Martí prevailed, which prays that men go on two sides: those who love and found, and those who they hate and destroy, in clear allusion of rejection to the vandalism of last Sunday and to the annexationist attitudes of a group of wage earners of the empire.

"It is time for the poisoned hatred of democracy and the Cuban revolution to cease," said Lianet Pazo Cedeño, first secretary of the Union of Young Communists in the province, in her address.

Félix Duarte Ortega, member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Jorge Luis Perdomo Di-Lella, Deputy Prime Minister, along with leaders of the different mass organizations and the people, shared the condemnation of the interference and spurious attitudes originating from the main instigator of counterrevolutionary acts, the government of the United States.

Carlos Luis Garrido Pérez, a member of the party's Central Committee and its first secretary in the territory, repudiated the attitude of those who incite vandalism from the north and those who from within try to comply with the letter of the written script.

He told the crowd that, despite the US blockade against Cuba and the bad faith attitudes of July 11, more than 117,300 Ciego de Ávila`s citizens, 27% of the province's population, received at least one dose on their shoulders of the Cuban vaccine Abdala.
