Avanza vacunación con Abdala en Ciego de Ávila

More than 117,000 Ciego de Ávila`s citizens have applied at least one dose of the anti-COVID-19 Abdala vaccine, which represents 27 percent of the province's population.

While Morón`s people go through the administration of the second dose, in the main town the first phase continues in the 126 centers that assume the process.

According to previous studies, some 150,000 subjects over 19 years of age will be immunized in both territories, with the exception of contacts of positive cases to COVID-19, suspects, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, thiomersal allergy sufferers and those patients with decompensated chronic diseases.

In the assurance and certification of vaccinations, the multisector work stood out, which united, in addition to Health personnel, workers from other sectors such as Education, mass organizations and other community factors.

Local development projects stand out in the capital city, with the delivery of 19 refrigerators to the offices of the Family Doctor and Nurse, to guarantee the refrigeration of the immunogenic medication.

These projects supported the intervention process with other supplies such as paints and light equipment, in addition to carrying out repair tasks in several of the centers.

Álida López, now a retired woman, declared to the Cuban News Agency hours after receiving the dose of Abdala, that she did not feel any adverse reaction and takes preventive measures that allow her to reach the next stages without having contracted the virus.

The rest of the municipalities are also making progress in the enlistment and certification of the vaccination centers, waiting their times.

Today, Ciego de Ávila shows one of the most complex epidemiological scenarios in Cuba due to the high number of patients, which registered a record of 909 cases in the last day.
