A medical team, made up of 210 doctors from various provinces of the country who were carrying out an internationalist mission in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, arrived this morning in Ciego de Ávila to support the confrontation with COVID-19 in the territory.

Ernesto Che Guevara Contingent is formed by health professionals from Camagüey, Santiago de Cuba, Holguín, Las Tunas, Villa Clara and Pinar del Rio, who have given up their vacations since last August 3 and are working in Ciego de Ávila`s hospitals and the health areas of the territory with a shortage of medical personnel.

The reinforcement will support assistance in the new hospital capacities that will be opened in the territory, due to the increase in confirmed cases of coronavirus in recent weeks, which complicates the epidemiological situation in this latest outbreak of the disease.

This is the third group of internationalists who step forward to support the battle against COVID 19 in Ciego de Ávila, and the arrival of other colleagues of the same condition to face the pandemic is expected to Ciego de Ávila`s lands.
