Cuando el amor se viste de solidaridad

Cuban, so Cuban and native from Ciego de Ávila, Nilvia Liuba Bernar González is just like that, although life or destiny, as it is usually said, keep her residing in Spain.

The truth is that when she arrived in the country where she was born and she continues to love it, perhaps more than before, she did so with a donation for “Dr.  Antonio Luaces Iraola” Hospital in the provincial capital of Ciego de Ávila, made by her and her co-workers from the Ribera Health Company and El Acequión Integrated Health Center.

Protection utensils, especially facemasks, medical supplies, medicines and food arrive collected by Cubans, who like Nilvia, reside abroad.  For everyone, no matter how modest the help is, it has been very important to get it through. The direct beneficiaries will be the Maternal and Child Program and the Integrated Medical Emergency System. This speaks of the sensitivity and identification with the Cuban people, of those who work at the Torrevieja University Hospital, based in the province of Alicante.

The donation arrived in the country as an accompanying cargo for Nilvia, on August 1. First of all, this young woman completed the established isolation period and her PCR was confirmed as negative, then she proceeded to the delivery, which was received with great joy by the heads of key areas of Ciego de Ávila hospital.

Acts like this challenge not only Covid-19, but also do it to all those absurd campaigns and actions aimed at fracturing the unity of Cubans, whether they live on the island or not, planned by imperialism and executed by mercenary lackeys.

Once again, and with a high dose of humanism and modesty, bridges of love are interlaced, supported by grateful people, from one side and the other, turning solidarity into the ideal suit to face pandemics and hatreds that do not belong to us.
