Prosigue intervención sanitaria con Abdala en Morón

More than 25 000 inhabitants of the municipality of Morón, in the province of Ciego de Ávila, completed the vaccination scheme with Abdala, as part of the national immunization strategy against the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which maintains high transmission figures.

In the territory, the application of the third dose of the immunogenic medication continues, including the workers of the tourist destination Jardínes del Rey, exposed to high-risk conditions and essential for the economic development of the country, Dr. Jacqueline Díaz Luis, II degree specialist in Immunology, from the Roberto Rodríguez General Teaching Hospital, said.

Abdala has been inoculated to more than 190 pregnant women and 70 breastfeeding mothers, the recovery process is maintained in patients who, for different reasons, have not been able to comply with the vaccination schedule, with more than 800 incorporated people in the second opportunity, she stressed.

The inclusive nature of the Cuban immunization strategy against COVID-19 is also manifested in the incorporation into the territory of patients with chronic kidney disease and undergoing hemodialysis treatments, who receive the third dose this week.

The specialist specified that the vaccination center located in the Roberto Rodríguez General Teaching Hospital remains open, where the health intervention was carried out for health workers in the month of May and, currently, the immunogenic medication is administrated to personnel hired to work in the Red Zone.

Abdala has shown efficacy in reducing complications in patients and the chances of contagion, however, the health intervention has coincided with a period of high transmission of the virus, circumstances that require strict compliance with preventive measures to ensure that a majority can receive this immunogenic medicine, she warned.

Díaz Luis also referred to the inoculation of 100 doses of Soberana Plus to workers in the health sector in the municipality, convalescing from COVID-19, who suffered the disease during the period prior to April 2021.
