The organization recognizes the performance of the young CDR members.

The popular participation in the confrontation with the COVID-19 pandemic was weighed by the Provincial Directorate of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) in Ciego de Ávila, recognizing the work of its members to face the health crisis and its effects in the economy and society.

Eremis Campos Escobar, organizer of that institution, when referring to the performance in the 2020-2021 period, highlighted the link to health audiences in all areas of the province, with the aim of informing about the virus and hygienic-sanitary measures to prevent contagion and spread.

The transit of the territory through different epidemiological phases has demanded an increase in the actions of the affiliates of the organization, who have joined to carry out active investigations and visits to patients with home admissions to know their health status and attend to basic needs.

Campos Escobar stressed the humanism and sensitivity of those who provide help to vulnerable groups (elderly, sick, pregnant and disabled people) by offering them courier services, which include purchases in warehouses and pharmacies, and the approach of processed food, in the case of those admitted ones to the Family Attention System (SAF).

The CDR members involved in these tasks guarantee the safety of these people and the fulfillment of measures directed by the Provincial Temporary Group for the Prevention, Confrontation and Control of COVID-19, fundamentally the reduction of mobility and the concentrations of people in places of public services, he noted.

In this context, the incorporation of young individuals to work in the red zones of hospitals and isolation centers, the delivery of donations to Public Health institutions and the Home for Children without Family Protection, and support for the vaccination campaign against the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

As part of the accompaniment to the National Immunization Program against COVID-19, the associates from Ciego de Ávila participate in the preparation and custody of the family medical offices (CMF), companies and educational centers that function as vaccination centers, and the confrontation with the enemy campaigns to tarnish the process, he emphasized.

The mass organization selected activists to guide patients on the date of inoculation and the measures to be followed in the vaccinations, in addition to assisting vulnerable people by driving them to the areas where the immunogens Abdala and Soberana 02 are supplied, and intervening in the follow-up of the vaccinated patients.

After launching the call to participate in the "Cultiva tu pedacito" movement, an effective response is appreciated by achieving better use of backyards and plots to promote self-sufficiency and consumption of the communities, in addition to food donations to health institutions, the official underlined.

The CDRs, defined as the largest mass organization in the country, will celebrate their 61st anniversary on September 28, the date on which the popular concentration in 1960 will be evoked, in front of the old Presidential Palace, to establish an organization that would strengthen protection and defense against enemy attacks.

On that date, the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, raised the need to establish a collective surveillance system against the aggressions of Imperialism and, from that compact human mass, the cries of ¡Paredón! Long live Cuba! and Long live the Revolution!
