The completion of the leadership structures at the base constitutes one of the main challenges of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) in the province of Ciego de Ávila to improve the work of the mass organization.
This task is defined among the priorities of the integrated community work groups, in their interest to unite, mobilize and organize the people so that they participate, actively, in decision-making and solving the problems of the neighborhood, Eremis Campos Escobar, organizer of the Provincial Directorate of the CDRs, stressed.
In achieving this objective, he emphasized, the incorporation into our ranks of 90.14 percent of the population of the territory with 14 years of age or more, which represents 322 354 CDR members and the incorporation of 9 out of 10 Ciego de Ávila`s citizens, constitutes a strength, according to the statistics of the close of fiscal year 2020.
Campos Escobar highlighted the ideological firmness, the attachment to revolutionary values and the willingness shown by the associates of the organization to face a multidimensional crisis, accentuated by the COVID-19 pandemic and the intensification of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on Cuba by the US government.
In the context of the celebrations for its 61st anniversary, the largest mass organization promotes the recognition of organizations, areas, families and CDR members that stand out in the fight against the SARS-CoV-2 virus, voluntary blood donations, and the sowing of backyards and plots to develop urban, suburban and family agriculture.
A dozen CDR members will receive the medal For the Defense of the Homeland and the Unity of the Neighborhood. This was approved by the Council of State at the proposal of the National Secretariat of the CDR. Besides, this recognition was endorsed by the delivery to the defense of the Socialist Revolution, the uninterrupted work in tasks of the organization and the previous reception of the distinction September 28.
This last award will be conferred on 13 members of the organization, outstanding in surveillance, voluntary blood donations, compliance with duties in the neighborhood and contribution to the economy; in all cases worthy of the status of vanguard cederistas in the area, the municipality and the province.
Zone No.15, Celia Sánchez Manduley, in La Cadena community, of the Guadalupe popular council, municipality of Florencia, will host the September 28th Flag, for the comprehensive results in the operation of the mass organization.
Likewise, recognition comes to national vanguards, leaders and cadres who have served in the CDR, uninterruptedly, for 5, 10, 15, 20 or more years, added the source itself.
In greeting to the date there are days of cleaning, beautification and popular adornment in the neighborhoods, voluntary blood donations and productive work, as well as actions linked to Cultiva tu pedacito movement, aimed at promoting family and community self-sufficiency.
