In these times, a person, with the habit of more than 40 years of writing about the sporting events of the province, must deal with issues that have nothing to do with champions, fight for a medal, and training and preparation days.

Over the course of more than a year, we have found the same representatives of the sports movement in Ciego de Ávila in coronavirus investigations, in cleaning hospitals or as improvised couriers in pharmacies.

These and other tasks have had to be assumed by workers in this sector because of the pandemic that has severely affected our territory.

It did not surprise me, therefore, to see this Saturday so many familiar faces in the 70 district of the Popular Council of the City Center, in the provincial capital, at the reopening of the 40th Family Doctor and Nurse's Office, since they were the leading roles of the repairs that are now appreciated there.

For this reason, Dr. Belkis Díaz Fernández reflected in her words her satisfaction with how comfortable the facility was: “it is the patients themselves who will always appreciate this effort to improve what is theirs”.

The contributions of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution in this area of ​​residence, the Municipality's Public Health Directorate and the City Center Popular Council were also decisive. There are other champions to applaud. Of course, you have to write about them.
