The completion of the civil works and the beginning of the work to set the identity circuit represent progress in the construction of the Humedal Grande Park, a local development project of the municipality of Morón that combines economic, social, cultural and environmental interests in a Ramsar site declared area since 2002.

The location destined to recreate Cuban cultural traditions will highlight, in a fundamental way, elements about the life of the peasantry, through the representation of a batey that will invite the reunion with the customs of the Guajiros of the Island, Yuney Hamedh Cruz Antigua, project manager administered by the Provincial Company for the Protection of Flora and Fauna, said.

In the identity circuit you will also be able to appreciate an aboriginal village, a maroon hut and a Haitian kimbo, conceived as attractions for national and foreign tourists interested in learning about national history and culture.

Cruz Antigua alluded to the creation of an orchid garden, consisting of trails with a representation of Cuban varieties, which will be achieved mainly with plants recovered from the soil of forested areas of the province, after the passage of meteorological events that caused its fall.

Moreover, it is added to this the conformation of shade houses, one with orchids (exotic and introduced ones) and the other with succulents, plants with multiple attractions due to their shapes, colors and flowering, which will be marketed to customers so that they can grow them in their homes. , another way to contribute to the expansion and conservation of these species.

The workers of the Park are also immersed in the construction of six beds for the production of organic fertilizers (humus and earthworm leachate), the conformation of the interpretive trails based on the availability of a part of the construction materials, and the planting of a hundred seedlings of coffee plants of the robust species. At present, they are waiting for the arrival of the filling for the surfaces of the Children's Park "Los Sueños de Cuqui" and the equine area, the latter reserved for the ring tournament, the riding of horses and ponies, and equine therapy sessions, Yuney Hamedh emphasized. She added that maintenance actions are being developed in green areas for the accelerated growth of herbs due to rainfall at this time of year and continues the identification of floristic species by placing aluminum sheets - made with empty beer cans - that are tied with fine wires so as not to nail into tree trunks.

The Design and Engineering Company of the province works on proposals for electrical, hydraulic and sanitary networks for their subsequent execution; meanwhile, the construction of two swimming pools for children and adults is being negotiated with that entity, which will recreate rivers or wells, whose waters will not receive treatment with chemicals or other pollutants. Last August, during a visit to the Park, Deputy Prime Minister Jorge Luis Tapia Fonseca called on the authorities and companies of the territory to promote construction work in that area, considering the economic, social, cultural and environmental benefits.

Morón`s local development project is being carried out at a time when it is necessary to search for options to revitalize the leisure industry, particularly specialized tourism modalities, based on the existing potential in the country to provide competitive and quality goods and services.

As part of the actions, the recovery of El Embarcadero, a vulnerable community in the territory, and the improvement of the conditions of the water resources of Laguna de La Leche, the largest natural freshwater lake in Cuba, with a total area of 67.2 square kilometers and length of 14 kilometers.

The Humedal Grande Park is located in the Gran Humedal del Norte in Ciego de Ávila, a gigantic ecosystem with an area of 226,875 hectares, considered the second largest of its kind in Cuba, after Ciénaga de Zapata, in Matanzas; and declared a Ramsar Site since 2002 for its natural values and international importance.
