A call to revive the commerce and gastronomy sector, with services that are distinguished by quality, variety and stability in the offers, adequate customer service and strict adherence to hygienic-sanitary protocols, transcended during the parliamentary visit to the province of Ciego de Ávila, which verified the business improvement process in that body.
María del Carmen Concepción González and David Estévez Solís, president and member of the Service Attention Commission of the National Assembly of People's Power (ANPP), respectively, appreciated the weaknesses, strengths and the economic and social impact of the transformations, during an exchange with representatives of the Business Group of Commerce, local leaders, presidents of popular councils and the population.
Under the protection of business improvement and the regulations approved in the country to facilitate management, a higher quality is achieved in gastronomy services. As a result of the improvement of the image of the units, as well as the stability and variety of offers, it favored by the opportunity to self-manage and obtain resources in sectors such as the non-state sector.
In the province, conditions are created to promote new forms of retail trade, such as term and garage sales, and brokerage houses, with the aim of facilitating the sale and acquisition of various products, for which contracts are established with entities state and private producers that guarantee the systematic supply.
The success of the new forms of commercialization will also depend on the professionalism of the workers and the information that is provided, through the press, digital platforms or other supports, to explain the facilities and benefits that sellers and buyers, Concepción González insisted.
Although technological limitations persist for the expansion of electronic commerce, in municipalities such as Morón, with more than 70,500 inhabitants and where a considerable number of floating population is concentrated, 48 units implement this method of payment, including warehouses, industrial product stores, ideales markets, cafes and restaurants, Roberto Ruiz Caraballo, economic director of the Business Group of Commerce in the province, said.
The efforts are also aimed at the repair of warehouses with the support of community factors, entities that acquire greater relevance in the current economic context by allowing the equitable distribution of basic necessities to the population, the president of the Services Attention Commission held.
Alicia Eulalia Barbosa Menéndez, president of the western popular council, of the territory of Morón, highlighted difficulties in the butcher shops: mostly located in old and deteriorated buildings, and lacking refrigeration equipment, problems that affect the quality of services and the safety of the food.
Trade and Gastronomy executives referred to the positive experiences of business improvement, which began in February of this year and was progressively extended, thereby achieving a greater impact on customer satisfaction and greater economic benefits for entities and workers.
During the verification, the work of the delegates and presidents of popular councils was also checked based on the attention to services, the behavior of the gastronomy after the reopening of services, the constitution of exceptional nuclei in the Consumer Registration Offices and the training of Commerce and Gastronomy cadres.
Since October 14, through representatives of the Commission for Attention to Services, the ANPP evaluates the operation of strategic sectors of the Ciego de Ávila`s economy such as Transport, Communications and Tourism, through exchanges with managers, workers and clients, during a work visit that will last until this Saturday 16.
