Parliamentary visit to Ciego de Ávila confirms food production program for the people

Visita parlamentaria a Ciego de Ávila constata programa de producción de alimentos para el pueblo

Core objectives, related to food production and meeting the needs of the people, have been those projected by the Food and Agriculture Commission of the National Assembly, which participates in the parliamentary visit in Ciego de Ávila.

Accompanied by the deputies, Rafael Pérez Carmenate and Reina Torres Pérez, as well as by political and governmental authorities of the territory, the president of this Permanent Labor Commission, in the highest legislative body of the country, Ramón Aguilar Betancourt, held an exchange with the Board of Directors and workers of the Ciro Redondo Sugar Agroindustrial Company. There, he appreciated that the search for alternatives so that workers are not available has been one of the purposes, starting from the change in the structure.

In the same way, it was detailed in the preparations for the upcoming harvest, which is scheduled to begin at the end of December. The group is committed to obtaining the projected results. For this, in addition to human capital, they have state-of-the-art technology, accompanied by actions of technological innovation, ingenuity and a lot of will to do.

Regarding the change in structure, they describe it as very positive, although they consider that there are still pending issues to be perfected, to continue advancing in the rescue of this important economic line, which also has a social and patrimonial significance in the country.

In addition, in the Ciro Redondo municipality, La Candelaria mini-industry and Los Angeles small livestock local development project were visited. The main incidents that affect production and the growth prospects in the short and medium terms were analyzed. In the same way, the diversification of products in the national market as well as sales to tourism and exports. In the case of the local development project, the progress and the willingness to work tirelessly to achieve growth were explained.

In order to verify the implementation process of the 63 measures to boost the agri-food sector, prioritizing those related to the recovery of bovine livestock and those that improve the results of the State Socialist Company, exchanges were held with managers and producers of Ruta Invasora Agricultural Companies and Genetic LivestockTuriguanó.

Valuable experiences were appreciated in both entities, such as the one shown in Vaquería # 1 belonging to Ruta Invasora Agricultural Company in which the farmer Leicer Rodríguez González and 10 workers enhance the production of milk and the management of the livestock mass as well as its food base with the introduction of science and technology, or the capacities to guarantee feed for cattle, even in the dry season, achieved by the Turiguanó Genetic Livestock Company.
