Equipo gubernamental en Ciego de Ávila sugiere y ayuda

The face-to-face restart of the 2020-2021 school year at all levels of education and the implementation of policies related to prevention and social work were issues evaluated in this province by Vice Prime Minister Jorge Luis Perdomo Di-Lella, who led the government team for a tour of the territory.

Perdomo Di-Lella recognized the efforts of the people of Ciego de Ávila in enlisting the centers, some of which have already opened their doors and others will do so in a staggered manner on November 8, after a large majority of them were used for patients affected with Covid-19.

“The reopening of the school period, he commented, is a need for the territory and the country, based on the result and progress of the vaccination, without neglecting the hygienic and sanitary measures against the epidemic; all this will contribute to a better training of the professionals of the future.”

"The vaccination levels achieved and the reduction in the number of infections also allow the gradual recovery of economic and social activities, always in compliance with strict protection regulations."

The visit, which was attended by the Ministers of Education and Labor and Social Security, Ena Elsa Velázquez Cobiella and Marta Elena Feito Cabrera, respectively, as well as José Ramón Saborido Loidi, head of Higher Education, visited educational centers and communities in a situation of vulnerability, among which are the Marina Samuel Nobles School for Sports Initiation, the René Ramos Latour urban basic secondary school and the Máximo Gómez Báez University, as well as the communities El Aeropuerto and Tercer Frente Oriental Mario Muñoz.

Velázquez Cobiella and Saborido Loidi agreed that in the different teachings there will be no oversights when it comes to consolidate the designed strategy and insisted on the need for students and teachers to comply with security measures in educational establishments to avoid new outbreaks and closure schools. On the other hand, it is impossible to forget that there was a time when the territory had 28 schools turned into isolation and medical assistance centers, of which only five remain in that function.

Ciego de Ávila will restart the school year with a teaching coverage higher than 95%, one of the highest in recent years, and has alternatives to solve that remaining five percent.

Feitó Cabrera made a detailed analysis of the situation of vulnerability in the two visited communities and called to rescue in both of them the essence of community work integrated in order to provide a solution to the needs of the community from its own role.
