More than 20,000 convalescing people from COVID-19 will be immunized in Ciego de Ávila with the Soberana Plus vaccine from this Friday until Sunday, October 31, to guarantee their greater protection against the disease.

"This Thursday 28, in the morning, the doses were received and distributed in three routes to the 10 municipalities Ciego de Ávila and 19 health areas," the Master of Science Yipsi González Borroto, chief of the Immunization program in the province, precized to the television magazine Equilibrio.

The specialist indicated that on this occasion convalescents who suffered from the disease until August 31 will be vaccinated, to meet the criteria that at least 60 days have elapsed since their recovery.

González Borroto pointed out that the immunization will take place this Friday, Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 at the points located in the schools provided for the vaccination of adults in all municipalities.

She also explained that priority will be given according to age, so that the first to receive the doses will be older adults and so on until they reach 19 years of age.

She also emphasized that, for three or four days, in each health area of ​​the territory, family doctors and nurses summon people and tell them the day they should be vaccinated, so that this process is organized and not agglomerations exist.
