With the latent commitment that we cannot stop doing everything in our hands for the good of our people, who are the sovereign, Ciego de Ávila`s delegates solemnly celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Municipal Assemblies of People's Power.

Each session began with the reading of the message that Esteban Lazo Hernández, president of the National Assembly of People's Power and the Council of State, sent to each territory, where he praises the work carried out over more than two decades, and the role played in the colossal battle for health and life, in the face of the pandemic.

The moment was propitious for the recognition of those who for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and more than 35 years, have been devoted to the work in the constituency, who were turned into the soul of the neighborhood, combining initiative and will, among the voters and neighbors in general. It was an honor for the province to have three founders in those ranks of those still active ones, who in these 45 years have contributed their youth and experience to make the work perfect: Horacio Zorrilla Romero, from the Chambas municipality, Lorenzo Fernández Martínez , from Morón and Secundino Isasi Hernández, from Bolivia.

Similarly, the assemblies, through the powers conferred on their presidents, granted the status of Illustrious Son to those who, from different spheres of social life, contribute to the well-being of the population.

During the celebration of the Solemn Assembly of the provincial capital, Carlos Luis Garrido Pérez, First Secretary of the Provincial Committee of the PCC, member of the Central Committee and deputy to the National Assembly of People's Power for this municipality, asserted that the 552 Ciego de Ávila`s delegates make proud those who have trusted them because with their altruism, they have defied obstacles and adversities.

Later, he pointed out that the current time is a stage of deep, necessary and extensive transformations, in which the work and government management, of which they are the cornerstone, have to materialize by tracing and executing strategies to strengthen the political system, which it is to reinforce the Revolution.

Popular participation, as a key element, demonstrating that the people are the protagonists of the community resuscitation that is carried out, establishing priorities, responding urgently and effectively to the proposals, living the day-to-day, with creativity and optimism, are questions that also serve as a compass at work. On how it has been carried out and will be in the future in fact, it will depend that the next process of accountability of the delegates to their electors constitutes another political process that demonstrates the solidity of the socialist democracy that we endorse in the Constitution and we defend, as a legitimate expression of sovereignty.
