The preservation of culture and historical memory has been the maximum in the evolution of 40 years of continuous work in the "Caonabo" Museum in the municipality of Morón, north of the province of Ciego de Ávila.

The beginning of the day for the celebration was a quality delivery before a whole month of memories that will come true until November 30, the anniversary of the institution, the first of its kind inaugurated in Ciego de Ávila, in the year 1981.

For these reasons, the Caonabo specialists inaugurated their exposition of the month, an exhibition of objects and photos related to the museum's history, entitled “40 years, where history is present”.In a singular morning where the presence of Segundo Leyva Casay, Historian of the City for many years and First Director of the Museum, was noted through anecdotes from those people.

The moment had the participation of the directors of said institution who have gone through different times: Carlos R. Hernández Castro, Héctor J. Izquierdo Acuña, current Historian of the City, Galia Y. Castillo Martínez and who has the responsibility in these times as director Martha Irene González Pérez, as well as other representatives of the PCC and other cultural institutions of our municipality.

The music, always recurring for the Morón citizens, was performed by the group "La Familia" with its exquisite repertoire and was masterfully conducted by the young museologist Rolando Valle de Posada.
