This weekend, the opening of the gastronomic centers of the province was completed, with the 292 units committed to raise the quality of services and comply with hygienic-sanitary protocols to avoid the contagion and spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

These entities guarantee the availability of foot disinfection carpets and alcoholic or chlorinated solutions for the cleaning of feet and hands, respectively; require the mandatory use of facemask and physical distancing, and obey with the cleaning of surfaces and objects of common use, Reinaldo Frómeta Romero, director of the Business Group of Commerce in the territory, said.

Sales of food to take home and purchases through digital platforms will be maintained, in the case of units inserted into electronic commerce.

Frómeta Romero explained that Ciego de Ávila`s gastronomy is resuming its usual operations with 61 improved entities, which make up base business units with powers for self-management and price formulation.

In these places, the prices are formed taking into account the cost sheets, expenses for energy carriers (water and electricity) and the salary of the workers; however, they should be consulted with the Business Group to avoid abuse and speculation.

The Ciego de Ávila´s Gastronomy began its revival on October 1, with 20 restaurants and 61 cafeterias; the remaining 119 centers were gradually incorporated, as the epidemiological complexities diminished and the conditions of the premises allowed it, until the figure was completed last weekend, he declared.

Before restarting their operations, the gastronomic entities were endorsed by work commissions made up of specialists from Public Health and Commerce, and representatives of the Government in the province, he clarified.
