Sueño y compromiso de luchadores cubanos en Activo de la Dignidad

Ciego de Ávila`s citizen Jeisser Sampson read the oath of the Cuban delegation

This Tuesday, the Active of Dignity of the Cuban representation of wrestling at the First Junior Pan American Games Cali 2021, was a hymn to hope in the José Martí Park in the capital of Ciego de Ávila.

First, it was the floral offering deposited on the statue of our National Hero by the athletes Joel Betancourt Echevarría and Arturo Sinot Torres and then Jeisser Sampson read the delegation's commitment to the Colombian event.

Sampson was in charge of delivering to Wiliams Hurgos Oria, official of the Provincial Committee of the Cuban Communist Party, the Book of Dignity that minutes before was signed by competitors, coaches and directors of this discipline. On the other hand, Naylín Machado Ávila, of the Union of Young Communists of the province, in the central words of the act wished them luck and ordered them to put up the name of the Homeland.

Since last September, the young Cuban wrestlers have been training in Ciego de Ávila and it is expected that in the final days of November they will travel to the venue of the event where they hope to win several gold medals in both modalities.

In the first of these acts, which was held at the José Martí Memorial, in the Revolution Square, Ronnis Álvarez Noa, captain of the Cuban boxing squad, was in charge of delivering Osvaldo Vento Montiller, president of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER), the Book of Dignity signed by a part of the Antillean representation at this event.

Cuba will be represented at these Pan American Games, for those under 23 years of age, by 214 athletes divided into 26 disciplines and the central motto will be Dedication and enjoyment, a shared dream.

The event will take place in seven Colombian cities that will receive representatives from 41 countries.
