Workers of the Provincial Government of People's Power in Ciego de Ávila highlighted the importance of the thought of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution when commemorating the fifth anniversary of his physical disappearance.
At the close of the day for the 60th anniversary of the constitution of the National Union of Public Administration Workers (SNTAP), they reaffirmed that the Commander-in-Chief moved towards immortality. He did not die because his imprint continues to trace paths in the effort to create a prosperous and sustainable socialism, with the decisive participation of the majority of Cubans and a leadership that has proven to be continuity.
Reina de la Caridad Torres Pérez, deputy to the National Assembly of People's Power and head of the Department of Information and Social Communication, stressed that “the people of Cuba resist and advance with full awareness of threats and opportunities. It collapses the orchestrated maneuvers against their efforts, from the tactics inherited from Fidel, present and latent, as his teachings and his figure are”.
It meant that the guidance and continuity of the thought of the Commander in Chief constitute the fundamental pillars of the resilience of the Cuban people in the face of the intensification of the economic, commercial and financial blockade, which has reached superlative levels of crime by limiting access to components and medicines to face the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Although we have not been able to escape the deadly consequences of that virus, we were able to restrict them, even in other parts of the world, and there is the imprint of Fidel, for whom Medicine was the most humane of all professions, and Cuban medicine had to be the most humane of all,” she recalled.
At a crucial moment for the Cuban nation, “the emotional‛ I am Fidel ’ that the majority of us cry out when we are shocked by his physical departure, demands to go beyond the mere slogan. Being Fidel, today, is not imagining that if you had lived in 1953 or 1956 you would have participated, together with him, in the assault on the Moncada or in the Granma expedition”.
Today, being Fidel implies the commitment to remain faithful to the principles that inspired his thinking and actions, the parliamentarian said.
In the heat of the tribute to the lighthouse and guide of the Revolution, Dayamí Ahú Echemendía, general secretary of the SNTAP in the province of Ciego de Ávila, gave recognitions to drivers of the Provincial Government who stand out for maintaining road safety during their stay at the wheel.
Likewise, the Department of Human Resources of that government entity received the diploma certifying the condition of "Ready and Safe Center", conferred by the Provincial Committee of the Cuban Worker Center.
Ahú Echemendía stressed that, as part of the celebrations for the SNTAP's 60th anniversary, decorations were also awarded to entities and outstanding workers in the fulfillment of their specific functions and the confrontation with the COVID-19 pandemic in red zones of hospitals and health isolation centers.
The groups of the Communal Services companies in the head and provincial municipality of Legal Services stood out, deserving of the "SNTAP 60th Anniversary Commemorative Plaque," she stressed.
The award to the Provincial Legal Services Company is also endorsed by the status of National Vanguard for three consecutive years.
For their contribution to health, transcendental in the face of the spread of communicable diseases such as the new coronavirus and dengue fever, six workers from the Community Services Company in the municipality of Ciego de Ávila received the “SNTAP 60th Anniversary Commemorative Seal”.
This distinction was also awarded to Félix Álvarez Aguilar, founder and first general secretary of that organization in the province of Ciego de Ávila.
Ahú Echemendía extended his congratulations to the workers of the 53 organizations that make up that association in the territory, who maintained the benefits for citizens and joined the fight against the pandemic.
In the New Normal, the main challenge was to offer quality and efficient services, without neglecting respect for hygienic-sanitary protocols to guarantee the health of the people and the recovery of the economy.
The more than 10,000 members of the SNTAP in Ciego de Ávila complete a wide program of activities ― sanitation days, productive work and awards to volunteer blood donors and innovators― in tribute to Fidel.
