The teacher Sara Fe Luis Lewis was distinguished in her home, surrounded by neighbors and family, as Glory of Education and Jewel of the Ciego de Ávila Pedagogy.

Both awards recognize her meritorious performance in the teaching profession for more than fifty years, and include, in addition to accrediting certificates, distinctive plaques at the entrance of her home.

The President of the Association of Pedagogues of Cuba in Ciego de Ávila, Argelio Rodríguez Gazapo, argued that such distinctions are part of the actions undertaken during the days for the 60th anniversary of the Literacy Campaign “Honrar, honra”.

Pioneers from the José de La Luz y Caballero School and other jewels of the Pedagogy, such as Ramón Sosa, Sergio Sorí and Zoe Oquendo, who shared teaching tasks in dissimilar public schools attended to the celebration of Sara Fe Lewis.
