Soberanía alimentaria y nutricional

The Local Agricultural Innovation Project (PIAL) from Ciego de Ávila constitutes a reliable example of how Human Rights are implemented and respected in Cuba.

In fact, agro-ecological practices and shared knowledge that include youth and women, promote food sovereignty and nutritional education in the country from the local agricultural innovation system.

This happened this Friday during the PIAL initiative workshop in the municipality of Majagua, where the producer Livan Alonso Torres socializes his agro-ecological practices with other young people from the territory and the country around the vermiculture and the melipona as a natural pollinator.

The protein use of the cassava crab in pig feeding, as well as the use of efficient microorganisms in crops are other integral practices of the Majagua`s peasantry that demonstrate their commitment to human and environmental rights.
