Ciego de Ávila premia a sus atletas

The mere attempt to practice sport in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic was already a challenge, but much more if it was about dealing with the Tokyo Olympics or the Pan-American youth event in Colombia. For these reasons, it was more than deserved the tribute that the best athletes of Ciego de Ávila received from the Cuba Communist Party, the Government and the sports entity of the territory.

It was an event, celebrated at the Raúl Corrales Pedagogical School, in tune with the economic and health situation that the country is experiencing at the end of 2021. However, the simplicity perhaps gave a greater connotation to each award given to athletes and coaches.

Both of them, the wrestlers Yeisser Sampson Sánchez and Ronni Álvarez Noa, champions in the Cali Valle 2021 Junior Pan American Games, thanked the tribute and expressed to Invasor that in 2022 they will have greater commitments.

The member of the Central Committee of the Cuba Communist Party and its first secretary in the territory, Carlos Luis Garrido Pérez, spoke about what the successes of their athletes mean for the people of Ciego de Ávila, who urged the young competitors to prepare for the upcoming contests.

In addition, it was more than comforting to see, after the ceremony, athletes and coaches, from dissimilar disciplines, share lively talks and experiences. In the atmosphere was the commitment that in 2022 the successes will be greater.
