With a set of images that complemented informative notes referring to the management of the Raw Materials Recovery Company (ERMP) in Ciego de Ávila in the current year, Román Romero López, journalist for the Avileño Citizen Portal and the Cuban News Agency (ACN), won the award of the national photography contest “Reciclando Ando”.

The jury of the contest, sponsored by the Recycling Business Group (GER) in the context of the celebrations for its 60th anniversary, recognized the quality of the photos sent, which made visible the recycling activity in the industry to accompany publications on the website of the Provincial Government of People's Power in Ciego de Ávila and the ACN.

María de los Ángeles Zulueta Avellé, Communication and Marketing specialist of the Ciego de Ávila ERMP, explained that the winner obtained the photography award in the category Activities in the recycling industry, recycling plants and people working and highlighted his labor ties with the entity, to address the results of its management.

It also reported that the photos show the sacrifice of the workers of the Raw Materials Recovery Company in cutting recovered steel, one of the most complex tasks and with significant contributions to the economy by constituting an exportable ruble and facilitating productive linkages with numerous entities of the country.

The snapshots illustrated the specific work of that entity in order to implement the Ordering Task, reduce the economic impact of the US blockade and strengthen production chains that ensure the production of beverages, food, medicines, industrial items and construction materials, the laureate commented.

He expressed his gratitude to the ERMP, recognized for its economic results at the national level and outstanding in the activity of social communication by maintaining close ties with the local and national press that ensure its positioning in the media agenda with issues related to its specific work and the contribution to integrated community work.

Romero López, graduated in Journalism and with a master's degree in Political Science from the Central University of Las Villas, in 2009 and 2015, respectively, addresses, through different journalistic genres, issues related to government management and political, economic and social life, with the aim of keeping the people informed.
