The concentration of people in the theater of the Raúl Corrales Pedagogical School, head office of the Provincial Workshop "The Management of Innovation in New Economic Actors", is much more than the sum of speakers and audience, it is constituted in the hope of progress, based on the facilities offered by the updating of the Cuban economic model. They are the protagonists of a term very in vogue in these times: the new economic actors.

They meet at the gates of the nascent period 2022 and a few hours after the Cuban Science Day is celebrated, with the motivation of incorporating legal knowledge and socializing experiences that contribute to improve performance.

They met to talk about new and innovative practices that routines make them assume as normal and apart from the call to apply science to productive activity to face successive deficiencies and conceive goods and services that satisfy the needs of the national economy.

Self-employed workers, managers of local development projects, members of non-agricultural cooperatives and owners of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), learned tools to conduct their businesses on the path of prosperity, which also means the positioning of the products as competitive in the national and foreign markets.

They are grateful, then, for the lessons on standardization and quality, industrial property and environmental management, since it will be difficult for them to head towards prosperous and sustainable development without walking along these paths, which are those of legality, but also those of success.

At times the class seems "complicated" and the language distant, however, the essences remain attached to the memory and the "curious" for knowledge will prompt a bibliographic search or consultations with experts, specialists, teachers, scientists...

It is clear that the journey will not be without difficulties and obstacles, even more than one person raises his voice there to denounce them from a critical and always revolutionary position, because the attitude of those who obstruct negotiations between the recently created economic forms and the existing ones of yesteryear.

Time will show those resistant to change that they ride or stay, as they say in popular slang. In the effort to transform the country's economic management model, challenging the multiple deficiencies imposed by a multi-causal crisis, the Territorial Delegation of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, together with local authorities, intends to accompany the new protagonists’ development.

The essential purpose is to unite wills and incorporate science and innovation to the usual tasks to obtain better results in a province that has 26 approved MSMEs and 23 in process, representative of a strength to advance in the production of food, goods and services, and building materials.

The existence of 65 local development projects is added, with similar social objectives; and four non-agricultural cooperatives. Forecasts point to growth, including the creation of state-owned MSMEs.

Beyond the necessary increase, experts such as Laura María de Quesada Uli, deputy director of the Provincial Directorate of Economy and Planning, propose to reflect on the potentialities to make and intend productive linkages between all economic actors to promote true participatory development.

It is also necessary to develop a work culture that breaks old patterns and mentalities that overcomes obstacles and achieves higher levels of efficiency and productivity to respond to needs in areas such as food production.
