Abanderan a Tigres para 61 Serie Nacional de Béisbol

This Friday, Los Tigres hosted an act that was attended by Carlos Luis Garrido Pérez, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and its first secretary in the province, and Tomás Alexis Martín Venegas, governor in the same institution at the José Ramón Cepero stadium, where it will face Las Tunas on Tuesday, January 25, in the debut of the 61st National Baseball Series.

The maximum political leader of the territory delivered the banner to Raúl González Isidoría, who was accompanied by his companions Yander Guevara Morales and Osvaldo Vázquez Torres; while captain Yorbis Borroto read the athletes' oath.

A representation of the cast signed the competition's code of ethics, which was later delivered by director Yorelvis Charles Martínez to Garrido Pérez.

Yanet Sánchez Cabrera, first secretary of the Union of Young Communists in the province, wished the group success and urged the athletes to give new joy to the Ciego de Ávila fans.

Several players who played in those first baseball contests attended the simple ceremony, which also served as a tribute to the 60th anniversary of the start of our national series.

As a climax, two squads, made up of players from the 15-16 and youth categories, showed their skills in a match that will serve as preparation for their subsequent participation in the competitions for these categories, scheduled to start in March.
