Juventud avileña rinde homenaje a José Martí

There are 169 years since the most universal of Cubans saw the light, and respect only increases from year to year. As always, young people take center stage and Ciego de Ávila population demonstrates this with traditional festivities.

Claudia Ruiz Alpízar, president of the Martian Youth Movement in the province, inaugurated this Tuesday 25th the Martian Day, with the presentation of the book Strategic Thinking by Fidel Castro Ruz, at the headquarters of the provincial UJC, and with the presence of Ángel Cabrera Sánchez, historian of the city of Ciego de Ávila.

The program follows an approach to the community of Plan Piña, at 3:00 pm this Wednesday, with the recreational activity Cuba in my backpack, together with workers from Culture and the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER).

With workshops, exhibitions, special morning sessions, and what children enjoy the most: dramatizations of stories, schools for children also become a space for remembrance, while breaking the daily routine. As Gladys Ruiz Marrero, deputy director of education, declared to the press, there will also be visits to museums, floral offerings and embellishment of Martí's forests and school gardens.

The university community will join the tribute with the celebration of the March of the Torches, starting at 6:30 pm on Thursday 27, in a tour to the Camilo Cienfuegos square, in the capital city. They will depart from Máximo Gómez street, in front of the Provincial Directorate of Commerce. "Not only university students are invited, but also high school students and working people."

This is how Daily Correa Delgado, president of the University Student Federation at the University of Ciego de Ávila "Máximo Gómez Báez", told Invasor. Precisely in one of its areas, on Tuesday morning, a discussion was held about the universality of the figure of Martí. It wouldn't be the last.

As always, young artists also honor the Master from literature, with the Estrofa Nueva event, organized by the Hermanos Saíz Association, which also began on Tuesday with the placement of a floral offering in the central Parque Martí.

With the reading of poems, theatrical exercises, presentations in schools, conversations and recreational activities, the tribute is forged. Because José Martí is not far from the inspiration and the reason that moves young students, artists, workers. It's close, and on the left side of the chest.
