Presentan libro sobre Fidel en Ciego de Ávila

Historian Ángel Cabrera Sánchez described the book Fidel Castro's Strategic Thought: Value and Validity as an extraordinarily lawful and essential material for understanding the construction process of the Cuban social project, during his presentation this Thursday in the city of Ciego de Ávila.

The work, compiled by Rafael Hidalgo Fernández and published by the Editora de Historia, brings together a collection of articles by various authors, who inquired about the far-sighted leadership, capacity and political teaching of our historic leader, including José Luis Rodríguez, Osvaldo Martínez, Isabel Allende Karam, Ricardo Alarcón de Quesada, Pedro Pablo Rodríguez and Elier Ramírez.

Ángel Cabrera Sánchez, a diligent researcher, as well as a teacher, highlighted important passages and singularities that surround the specimen. Thus, he referred to the concept of unity put forward by Fidel, to his theory of development linked to the social revolution in third world countries, to how he was able to see the intentions of the United States with America, and to the dangers of capitalism for the environment.

“The country is going through difficult times and we are attacked ideologically with a war of symbols. That is why it is necessary to fully understand the humanistic conception of Fidel, his stature as a political leader and the logic of his thought to defend the Revolution. Hence the value of this compilation, because scenarios can change, but the essence of a free country does not”.

Rafael Hidalgo Fernández told the Cubadebate website that “the work flowed easily, a call was enough for a group of important figures from the academy to take on the task of contributing. It was a practical exercise of sum of knowledge, of complementation and of absence of rigid positions so that each one of the defended ideas was understood in a practical way”.

The appointment also resulted in an exchange between the attendees, many of them teachers, who valued the book as a tool for teacher preparation and to stimulate the interest of students for new edges in the desire to unravel and enjoy the interpretation of homeland history, based on the many valuable data it gathers.
