The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, received this Wednesday at the Palace of the Revolution the members of a delegation made up of representatives of the Group of the European United Confederal Left/Nordic Green Left who visit our country.

During the cordial exchange, the Cuban president thanked the visitors for their permanent solidarity with our country in the face of the campaigns of disinformation and the application of double standards, as well as the condemnation of the application of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States government against Cuba.

Invited by the National Assembly of People's Power, the delegation, headed by the Group's co-chairman, Martin Schirdewan, an MEP for the German Die Linke party, is made up for European disputes representing left-wing parties that make up the Group, one of the seven present today in the European legislature.

Also present at the meeting were the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla; Yolanda Ferrer Gómez, president of the International Relations Commission of the National Assembly of People's Power, and Ángel Arzuaga Reyes, coordinator of the Department of International Relations of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba.
