The Raw Materials Recovery Company in Ciego de Ávila launches alternatives to give benefit to what it collects and thereby promote productive chains that give higher levels of sales and satisfy the demand of the territory.

These actions are part of the implementation of the 43 measures approved by the government to make management more flexible and achieve the revival that the Cuban business sector requires by granting more facilities to negotiate, seek solutions and create alliances with other economic actors in society, including the non-state sector.

The National Association of Innovators and Rationalizers (ANIR) of that center recovered in 2020 a machine to obtain wadding from textile waste, which allowed in 2021 to produce almost 4,000 tons of padding, which were sold to the Various Productions Company for the preparation of mattresses and mats, as detailed in the entity's annual balance sheet report.

Raw Materials in the province also sold 1 250,000 personalized bottles to EMBER, more than 29,000 plastic containers including PET bottles and drums to Urban Farms in Sancti Spíritus and several small and medium-sized companies (MSMEs) from Ciego de Ávila, and more than 374,000 bottles of medicine, a line that has been vital to keep cold syrups in pharmacies, highly demanded in the current epidemiological situation caused by COVID-19.

This anirist movement replaced imports, since it also created a cable stripping machine to recover all its components, new bottle washers in various municipalities; it rebuilt a bus engine that favored the transportation of workers; and converted a backhoe into a crane to facilitate the movement of raw materials in the entity's yard and loading operations to the trains.

Rodolfo Veloz Tur, director of Development and Investments in the company, pointed out to the Cuban News Agency that better results are predicted for this 2022, since they plan to produce hoses, plastic and electrical pipes, glasses, pillows, metal staples and water sprinklers, in cooperation with the new players in the economy, such as self-employed workers and MSMEs.

Raw Materials was inserted in 2021 in the economic reorganization, which allowed obtaining a level of profits amounting to more than 19 000000 pesos, which supported accounting operations, investments and allowed profits to be distributed among the 307 workers.

These revenues facilitated the purchase of equipment that improved the functioning of the entity's operations, such as a forklift, five electric tricycles, four ampiroll open boxes, seven computers and a portable radioactivity meter.

Although it did not comply with the general plan in terms of values, this group did exceed the agreed amounts of the lines for export (bronze, copper, aluminum, stainless steel and electronic scrap), which represented 70 percent of total sales.

Among the products that find utility through Raw Materials are, in addition, paper, cardboard, batteries and tires in disuse, and electronic boards.

In order to recover waste and reusable materials, this year they contracted with all entities in the territory, always prioritizing large generating sources, including the Sugar, Construction, Communications, Domestic Trade, Transport and Tourism sectors.
