Reconocen labor de trabajadores de servicios comunales del país en la lucha contra la Covid

Carlos Luis Garrido Pérez, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and its first secretary in Ciego de Ávila, presented the diploma that accredits Ciego de Ávila as a province that stands out in the emulation

This Tuesday, the leading role of the country's Community Services workers in the fight against Covid-19 and in the comprehensive transformation of neighborhoods was recognized at the sector's central national act, whose head offices were Ciego de Ávila.

The more than 58,000 men and women belonging to the industry played an essential role in cleaning the streets, collecting solid waste and organizing remaining in landfills, as well as maintaining green areas, services in funeral homes and cemeteries.

Yaisel Pieter Terry, General Secretary of the National Union of Public Administration Workers, highlighted the decisive contribution in hospitals and the hundreds of isolation centers throughout the nation during the pandemic.

The union leader alleged that, after Ciego de Ávila, the provinces of Pinar del Río, Sancti Spíritus and Granma also stood out, the latter with sustained work for several consecutive years.

Representing the workers, Gilberto Matos Martínez, who has worked as a sweeper for the Rivas Fraga People's Council for more than three decades, held that the Community Services workers are always immersed in the challenges that each era imposes, at the service of the people, in tasks as sensitive as Obituary Services, communal hygiene and green areas.

The occasion was propitious for the authorities of the province, headed by Carlos Luis Garrido Pérez, a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and its first secretary in the territory, to hand over the status of winner of the national emulation to the Communal Services Company (Comcávila) and the provincial directorate of Communal Services, both with excellent results during the last two years.

The provincial crematorium group received the Seal of Merit for Humanism, Solidarity and Sensitivity, which is awarded only once at the proposal of the Ministry of Public Health and its National Union to groups and workers who have had an outstanding participation in the confrontation with Covid 19.

The Worker Central from Cuba, at the proposal of the National Union of Public Administration Workers, agreed to deliver the Armando Hart Davalo Distinction to workers who have maintained an outstanding record of accomplishment of uninterrupted work in the sector for more than 20 and 25 years.

For just over a decade, the workers of the Communal Services in Ciego de Ávila, have not won the venue for these celebrations that each year become a tribute to the revolutionary fighter Faustino Pérez Hernández, member of the July 26 Movement, Commander of the Rebel Army , doctor and politician who dedicated several years of his work to the community and hydraulic services sector.
