Ciego de Ávila: Logra CEPIL autofinanciar compra de su materia prima

The sales in freely convertible currency of its productions through various channels during 2021 allowed the CEPIL Juan Antonio Márquez Company, from Ciego de Ávila, to have the financing to buy the raw material necessary to assume its commitments in 2022.

This availability of financing is because this group implements the 43 measures approved by the Government to make management more flexible and achieve the revival that the Cuban business sector requires, by granting more facilities to negotiate, seek solutions and create alliances with other economic actors of the society.

Oscar Morales Jiménez, general director of the entity, highlighted that, while they wait for the importation of more quantities of resins, they work with levels of virgin raw material stored in the company and plastic waste generated by the sector's industry that is ground in the CEPIL workshops to reuse them efficiently.

He reported that the analysis of the potentialities and resources available to them allowed the group to consider a plan in values that will exceed 109 million pesos, backed by 639,000 toothbrushes, 318,000 brushes of various types, more than 100,000 buckets and some 2 548 000 of other plastic articles.

Among those 2 548,000 units of other items, the production of disposable cups, marketed with the Institute of Civil Aeronautics of Cuba (I.A.C.C.) through Cubacatering; and plastic buckets for several clients, such as the Vitral Paintings Company and the SERVISA Integral Business Group.

Carlos Manuel Sánchez Menéndez, technical director of CEPIL, the only entity of its kind in the country, specified that, with the line of 3.8-liter, 10-liter, and 19-liter plastic buckets, that container can be ensured in the country, which can also be used to pack other products, such as food, due to its resistance and sealing conditions.

The Juan Antonio Márquez Company, awarded for Technological Innovation in 2021, will produce other assortments for domestic use in wide national demand, including dish drainers, baby bathtubs and potties, pots, buckets, baskets with lids and coat racks.

Founded on February 13, 1963 by Commander Ernesto Che Guevara, this company distributes its more than 60 products throughout the national territory, backed by a quality management system certified by international standards ISO 9000.
