One of the main agricultural production poles in the country continues to develop in Ciego de Ávila, made up of La Cuba Agricultural Company and its neighboring productive bases of the cooperative and peasant sector.

They work there with the commitment to reach 3,000 hectares of banana fruit with a drip irrigation system for precision agriculture that includes fertigation stations.

In this effort, means and financial resources are prioritized so that the components of the irrigation systems for the first 40 hectares arrive at the enclave this month, according to Frank Castañeda Santaya, president of the National Agricultural Business Group.

In the social order, the director argued that an important effort is expected in the construction of housing to stabilize the labor force, and the improvement of schools, warehouses, Family Doctor's Offices and other institutions.

Frank Castañeda highlighted that La Cuba Company and neighboring cooperatives are being strengthened due to the benefits of the area with red soils, availability of water, agricultural culture and its strategic position in the center of the country that facilitates more advantages to the balance of food distribution to the different provinces for the consumption of the population, in tourist facilities and social institutions.
