Jazz Centro ajusta acordes en Ciego de Ávila

It seems that, after so many months of silence, music will be conjured up on Ciego de Ávila stages in March, and this is confirmed by the celebration of the IV Jazz Center festival, from the 23rd to the 27th of this month, a luxury event that always brings the best and most innovative of this genre in the country.

Among the guests who will give prestige to the event is the Cuban Sax Quintet group, which deserved one of the Grand Prizes awarded by the jury of Cubadisco 2019, for the album Saxofones Live Sessions. In addition, we will be able to rediscover the work of Carlos Álvarez Guerra, one of the best trombonists in Cuba, to whom, therefore, the contest is dedicated.

His career ranges from Irakere to Habana de Primera, Klímax and the Orchestra of the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television, therefore, enjoying his presentations and expertise, live and direct, will be another of the exclusivities proposed by the Jazz Center.

Artists from the region will complete the list, such as Lux Vitae, the Fanme Zetwal ensemble, Rumbávila, the D'Armas Dance company, the Geiser group, Intermezzo, Música Abierta, Afrocaribe, Libán Tartabull and La Familia, hosts par excellence of the festival.

As usual, Morón will be the center of the presentations, but the main city will also be included in the schedule of activities. Thus, on March 23 in the Patio de Artex, an inaugural concert will be offered at 10:00 at night. On March 24, a master class will be held at the Ñola Sahíg Saínz elementary art school, and on the 26th, the night will be dedicated to folklore from the Bohemio cabaret, while the Aires de jazz concert will take place at the Rueda hotel.

Another of the projections that are drawn from here is to change the date of the contest for the coming year, in order to do it after the end of the Jazz Plaza.

According to statements, at a press conference, by Orlando Pino Amores, director of the Music and Show Marketing Company, this would be the opportunity to bring internationally renowned artists here, and then continue the party in the province of Santiago de Cuba. At the end, a kind of jazz circuit would be achieved throughout the country.
