Assembly of the PCC in Ciego de Ávila

The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC by its Spanish initials) and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, chairs the Provincial Balance Assembly of the Party, which began this morning in Ciego de Ávila.

Also in the presence of Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee, and Rogelio Polanco Fuentes, head of the Ideological Department, both members of the Secretariat of the Central Committee. The 150 Ciego de Ávila`s delegates will discuss core issues for the political, economic and social development of the territory, which constitute the obligatory agenda of the militancy.

This Tuesday, the first secretary of the PCC in the province, Carlos Luis Garrido Pérez, announced to Ciego de Ávila Television that it is the need to increase food production, the rescue of "a traditional and strategic sector for the country such as sugar cane -sugar” and work with young people.

The Ciego de Ávila`s delegates, who began the assembly process at the beginning of November, arrive this Friday at the culmination of the partisan debate, after participating in a political-cultural gala last night.

The document, which must be debated and approved at the meeting, includes 14 work projections, aimed at the development of the territory and a better performance of the militancy.
