The Cuban Telecommunications Company (ETECSA) in Ciego de Ávila continues with the investment plan in 2022 to contribute to the computerization process of Cuban society.

Among the tasks, the conditioning of an area in the coastal town of Júcaro, in the municipality of Venezuela, stands out, where they will install the technology for the Wi-Fi connection; and another in the demarcation of the Vicente Popular Council, in the main municipality, to set up a base radio for the mobile telephony service.

Wilfredo José Rodríguez Rodríguez, head of the general coordination department of ETECSA, told the local press that they recently set up a comprehensive cabinet in the Roberto Rivas Fraga Popular Council, in the capital city.

This investment includes, among other actions, outdoor plant works with the assembly of poles, and foresees for next year in that populous area to provide fixed telephony services to some 800 homes and 150 Nauta Hogar.

In the course of 2022, ETECSA in Ciego de Ávila will also set up radio bases in the communities of Pedro Ballester, in the municipality of Primero de Enero, and La Clementina, in Baraguá, both sites with low telephone intensity.

The computerization of society in the province advanced a little further in 2021 with the installation of 12 new mobile service base stations, another 18 for 4G provision, connecting 35 entities by fiber optics, and two thousand 324 households benefiting from the Nauta Hogar service due to to technological improvements.

In Los Perros and El Encontro, two demarcations of the municipality of Chambas, the technologies for the Wi-Fi connection were installed; and 2,200 homes benefited from fixed telephony.
